This term, Rugby School Japan pupils took part in the World Scholar’s Cup, joining more than 120 participants from seven schools. With over 40 teams competing across two divisions, the event provided a rigorous and engaging platform for academic challenge and collaboration.
Led by Ms Maggie Wong and supported by Ms Migunda, Ms Hampson, and Ms Birds, our pupils competed across a range of disciplines, including team debates, collaborative writing, the Scholar’s Challenge, and the fast-paced Scholar’s Bowl.
Our Junior Division pupils delivered an outstanding performance. A Year 7 team of Tsukasa, May, and Maya were crowned overall champions, while another Year 9 team of Emma , Miri and Dragon secured third place. Individually, Tsukasa achieved first place overall, with Marco (Year 9) placing second and Emma (Year 9) third. Sara (Year 8) was selected for the Debate Showcase, with Isaac (Year 9) invited to serve as a student judge.
In the Senior Division, a Year 11 team of Rintaro, Shinnosuke, and Jaspar placed fourth overall in a highly competitive field. Ema (Year 10) was awarded Writing Champion, with Mika (Year 10) placing third. Jaspar was also selected to participate in the Debate Showcase.
Beyond the academic competitions, many pupils took part in the Scholar’s Show, confidently showcasing their talents in front of peers from across participating schools, further reflecting the spirit and confidence of our community.
We are proud of all pupils who represented RSJ with such enthusiasm, curiosity, and resilience throughout the weekend.
