RSJ Pupils Recognised with OxfordAQA Go Further Awards

We are proud to announce that two of our Rugby School Japan graduates have been honoured with the prestigious OxfordAQA Go Further Awards, a global recognition presented to students who achieve the highest marks in OxfordAQA examinations.

The Go Further Awards celebrate academic excellence at the highest level, recognising students who attain the top exam result in their country, region, or even worldwide. These qualifications are developed through a partnership between Oxford University Press and AQA, the United Kingdom’s largest provider of GCSEs and A-levels. As such, the awards represent an internationally benchmarked standard of outstanding academic achievement.

This year, RSJ pupils from our very first Year 13 cohort – our founding Sixth Formers who helped shape the school’s academic foundations – have achieved remarkable success in the summer 2025 exam series.

A Historic Achievement for RSJ

Their recognition carries special and historic significance for our school. As members of our inaugural graduating class, Maximo and Alicia have not only excelled academically but have also helped pave the way for future RSJ pupils.

What makes this accomplishment truly exceptional is that they achieved top marks in Japan in their subjects this year – a remarkable feat for students from a school still in its early years. Their success reflects not only their talent, effort, and perseverance, but also the strength of teaching and learning at RSJ.

Through OxfordAQA qualifications, students build critical thinking, research skills, and academic independence – the very skills that prepare them for university and for life. Maximo and Alicia have helped set a powerful benchmark, demonstrating that RSJ pupils are already competing and excelling on a national stage.

To Maximo and Alicia: congratulations. Your hard work and dedication have made history for RSJ. You have set a high standard for excellence, and we could not be more proud.
