Each year, our school community comes together to celebrate talent, teamwork, and House spirit through the House Music Competition. This year’s Motown theme set the stage for a truly memorable evening. Drawing inspiration from the iconic sounds of the 1960s and 1970s, pupils collaborated with enthusiasm and pride, supporting one another across Houses while delivering performances full of energy, polish, and personality.
Among the individual honours, Daisy of Southfield was awarded Best Solo for her expressive performance of La Source Op. 23 by Albert Zabel. Tudor earned Best House Song with their fun rendition of You Can’t Hurry Love, written by Brian Holland, Lamont Dozier, and Eddie Holland, and famously recorded by The Supremes. Town received Best Accompanist for their performance of I Want You Back, written by Berry Gordy, Freddie Perren, Alphonso Mizzell, and Deke Richards, and recorded by The Jackson 5. The award for Best Conductor went to Amika, who led Southfield in a joyful interpretation of Isn’t She Lovely by Stevie Wonder.
The overall winners of the 2026 House Music Competition were Southfield, whose performances demonstrated musical excellence, unity, dedication, and pride. Throughout the evening, what stood out most was the spirit in which pupils performed: Houses competed with enthusiasm while cheering one another on, embodying the camaraderie and character at the heart of our community.
Our pupil photographers were there to capture every moment of the celebration, and we are delighted to share their work below.
