Explore, Discover & Question

Sciences & Humanities

With this year’s camp centred around the theme of Space, campers explored scientific discovery and historical events through a series of engaging, hands-on lessons.

In Biology, pupils explored the fascinating world of DNA, extracting genetic material and comparing different species while considering what life beyond Earth might look like. Physics challenged campers to design, build, and test their own balloon rockets, applying Newton’s laws of motion as they refined their ideas through experimentation and teamwork.

The Humanities sessions encouraged campers to explore space from a different perspective. In English, they developed their creative writing skills by crafting imaginative story endings, while History saw them investigate the Cold War Space Race by examining historical evidence and debating one of history’s most famous rivalries.

Together, these sessions encouraged campers to think critically, ask thoughtful questions, and approach challenges with curiosity and creativity. Whether conducting experiments, building rockets, writing stories, or debating historical events, participants discovered that learning is at its most exciting when ideas are explored from different perspectives.
