Last week, a group of RSJ Computer Science pupils and teachers had the distinct honour of attending a prestigious awards ceremony at the British Embassy in Tokyo. The event, hosted at the Ambassador’s Residence, brought together representatives from leading international schools, industry colleagues, and Japanese government officials to celebrate academic excellence and achievement.
Her Majesty’s Ambassador, Julia Longbottom, opened the ceremony with a warm address, emphasising the importance of global education and cross-cultural collaboration. A Japanese government official followed with remarks, further reinforcing the significance of the occasion.
A highlight of the ceremony was the awards presentation, where Rugby School Japan received recognition for their outstanding results in the CyberFirst Challenge. In a remarkable achievement, Rugby School Japan’s teams secured both first and second place in the highly competitive team cyber security awards. Additionally, Rintaro, a standout student from Rugby School Japan, earned third place in the individual awards category, showcasing the school’s commitment to academic excellence.
Following the awards presentation, attendees gathered in the Residence garden for a commemorative group photo with the Ambassador. The ceremony concluded with a reception, where pupils and faculty had the opportunity to network, reflect on their achievements, and celebrate their success.
The invitation to this distinguished event underscored Rugby School Japan’s growing reputation for academic excellence and leadership in international education. The school community takes immense pride in its students’ achievements and looks forward to continued success in future competitions and collaborations.
