In anticipation of RSJ’s Residential Summer Camp 2025, we are thrilled to share with you a sneak peek into the exciting itinerary we have planned for our 5-day summer programme. Guided by our ethos, The Whole Person, The Whole Point, we have designed a fully immersive summer camp that will provide participants with an opportunity to explore their passions, experience life-on-campus at an authentic boarding school and foster lasting friendships. Our schedule is designed to provide a meaningful balance of learning, creativity, exploration, and personal growth. Here’s what you can expect:
Engaging Co-Curricular Classes & Activities
Our pupils will participate in interactive classes and activities covering a diverse range of subjects, including:
Fun With Science: Pupils will have the opportunity to enjoy fun chemistry classes where they will experiment with alternative, sustainable ways of creating energy. In our biology classes, participants will discover methods for producing plastics from unexpected raw materials. Lastly, camp attendees will conduct hands-on climate change experiments during the physics portion of our programme.
Humanities: Our humanities classes will include three core topics, all of which will aid students in designing a “Samurai Ice Cream Cafe.” The first core topic will explore how understanding The History of the Samurai can turn budding business owners into successful marketers. During the second topic, participants will learn about the importance of sustainability when choosing the best location for their cafe. The final topic will educate pupils on the logistics and reality behind running a real-world cafe.
Performing and Creative Arts: During the summer programme, pupils will also have the opportunity to build their confidence through music and visual art, including sessions on creating art without conscious thought. Finally, pupils will be let loose in our design and technology department where they will work on their own sustainable mini architecture project, using natural materials and power tools (all under the watchful eye of our teaching staff).
Sports: Pupils will also participate in a range of team-based sports activities throughout the week. These activities will help pupils hone both their technical and soft skills through multi-sport activities like basketball and dodgeball, or through invading, striking, and fielding games like football and softball. Finally, pupils will collaborate in small groups to design and teach their own games.
Beyond academics, pupils will enjoy team-building exercises, sports, and recreational activities to create a well-rounded immersive summer experience.
Off-Campus Field Trips for Exploration and Discovery
As well as our enriching on-campus programme, pupils will also participate in exciting off-campus excursions designed to promote learning beyond the classroom. During these excursions, pupils will tour a variety of facilities to gain practical experience in sustainability and environmental awareness, culture, history and adventure. This year, pupils will be embarking on two separate exciting field trips.
Guest Speakers & Unique Experiences
The final element of our summer programme will be a talk hosted by an inspiring guest speaker, Mr Tamir Blum. Mr Blum is a renowned Sustainable Agritech entrepreneur and CEO of Kisui Tech, and he will be sharing his expertise and experiences with our participants.
At the end of each day, camp participants can look forward to special themed nights and social events to connect with peers and make lifelong memories. The RSJ Residential Summer Camp 2025 not only promises a unique and immersive experience, but it guarantees a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment where students can develop their confidence and independence.
