What is a Debenture?

A debenture is structurally and legally the same as an interest-free loan, which is redeemable, in full, upon your child’s graduation or departure from Rugby School Japan.

Through its scholarship and bursary programmes, the Rugby School Group has a proud history of educating the most capable boys and girls for whom a world-class education might ordinarily be out of reach.

Our goal is to continue this legacy, by increasing the availability of financial support to pupils who demonstrate particular talent in academics, sports, and performing arts.

Debenture Details

Rugby School Japan’s Debenture Programme provides a unique opportunity for members of the RSJ community to make an invaluable contribution to the realisation of RSJ’s future goals. And it is through your generosity that we are able to benefit not only our pupils, but also the wider community and the Rugby School global network.

• Applications are open only to parents or guardians of existing RSJ Students upon successful enrolment in the school. Parents wishing to participate can contribute at any time during their child’s study at RSJ.
• Families interested in joining the Debenture Programme may contribute in lots of JPY500,000, with a recommended contribution of 2 lots or more.

Recognition

In recognition of your generosity, participants in RSJ’s debenture programme will receive the following benefits:

• Recognition in annual school publications and newsletters, highlighting your special contribution and on-going support for RSJ’s development (you may opt-out if you wish to contribute anonymously).
• Exclusive invitations to debenture contributor special events, and VIP access to gala dinners, receptions, and cultural performances.
• A personalised certificate of appreciation which formally acknowledges your valuable contribution.
• Periodic updates on how your contribution is making a real difference in enhancing educational programmes, facilities, and bursaries.
