Now well underway, Podiversity has brought a wave of energy, excitement, and inter-pod rivalry to RSJ. Inspired by the intensity and excitement of British TV’s toughest team quiz tournaments, Podiversity has quickly become a favourite RSJ tradition. This inter-pod quiz challenge invites pupils to put their knowledge and their teamwork to the test.
Competing in their Pods (each made up of one boys’ and one girls’ tutor group), pupils face off in fast-paced quizzes covering general knowledge, subject-specific content, and delightfully random facts. The competition is designed not only to stretch brains but also to build camaraderie across year groups.
Each round includes a mix of general knowledge, subject-specific questions, and fun surprises – like the always-popular music round and an RSJ-themed section. It has been brilliant to see pupils with strengths in a wide range of topics finding their moment to shine, and especially inspiring to see older pupils balancing exam revision with their enthusiasm for the challenge.
What makes Podiversity special is more than just the quickfire questions; it is the sense of collaboration and inclusivity at its core. With teams made up of pupils from across year groups, from each age bracket and from each house pairing, the outcome is a school-wide celebration of knowledge and a healthy dose of competitive spirit.
Special congratulations to Pod 17 for their standout win so far, scoring an impressive 110 points – the highest total this year.
Podiversity is more than just a quiz, it is a celebration of curiosity, collaboration, and healthy competition. With the competition still ongoing, all eyes are on the leaderboard. Which Pod will take the championship title? We will be watching closely as the battles continue…
