RSJ Announces Scholarship Programme for the 2025 Academic Year

Building on the historic Rugby School UK’s remarkable scholarship programme, RSJ is delighted to offer a range of Scholarship Awards, allowing new and existing RSJ pupils to access exceptional teaching, first-class facilities and a dedicated academic tutor, through the RSJ Scholars’ Programme.

At RSJ, scholarships are made without regard to financial status or background, to pupils who show exceptional talent or ability in their chosen field.

Scholarship Assessment process for pupils joining RSJ in September 2025

New pupils entering Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 in September 2025 will be eligible for consideration by our teaching staff and Senior Leadership Team.

  • Scholarships will be awarded to newly-admitted pupils following a rigorous and standardised assessment process which will take place during our Scholarship Assessment Day – happening on 20th March 2025.
  • Attendance at the Scholarship Assessment Day is by invitation only, following successful completion of our standard admissions assessments.
  • To be eligible for consideration, candidates must meet a set of eligibility criteria which you can find detailed in full on our Scholarships Page.

To participate in the scholarship assessment process we would encourage you to submit an application as soon as possible through our OpenApply platform.

This is to allow you time to complete our admissions assessments, and for us to review all eligible applications before 20th March.

Scholarship Assessment Process FOR existing rsj pupils

Current RSJ pupils entering Years 8, 9, 10, and 12 in September 2025 will be eligible for consideration by our teaching, boarding and leadership teams.

  • Scholarships will be awarded to RSJ pupils following a rigorous and standardised assessment process which will take place during our Scholarship Assessment Day.
  • Attendance at the Scholarship Assessment Day is by invitation only, following an internal nomination and review process conducted by Heads of Department, House Masters and House Mistresses, RSJ’s Senior Leadership Team, and our Scholarship Committee.
  • Nominated pupils will be individually invited to participate in our Assessment Day by our Founding Principal, Tony Darby.
  • Final scholarship award decisions will be made based on successful performance at our Assessment Day.

Please be advised that in order to maintain the fairness and integrity of our Scholarship Programme, all existing pupils must be subject to the same nomination and review process.

We are therefore unable to accept inbound scholarship applications from pupils or their parents.
