At last week’s whole school assembly our Head of Music, Mr Musson, unveiled RSJ’s official school song to an excited audience of pupils and staff members. The song, which was composed by Arron Yin and Taiga Kato in collaboration with RSJ teaching staff, celebrates our school’s international roots – with lyrics written in both English and Japanese.
“Project School Song” required many months of dedication and hard work from all those involved. From the initial composition…
To writing lyrics…
To translating the chorus into Japanese…
To gathering feedback from our community focus group…
Before refining, recording, and finally revealing it last week.
We think it is fair to say that the completion of RSJ’s school song has been a true labour of love, resulting in a school song that the entire community can be proud of.
Our heartfelt thanks to Arron and Taiga, and the rest of the songwriting team for creating such a wonderful song for us all to share and enjoy. And we are excited to perform it publicly for the first time during our upcoming Winter Showcase.
This is our annual winter musical and dramatic performance, where talented RSJ pupils sing and perform in front of friends, family, and other members of the wider community.
If you would like to attend the Winter Showcase, and be amongst the first to enjoy our school song, you can reserve your seat (for free) via the link below.
