RSJ Podcast Launches to Celebrate Student Voices and Creative Talent

Rugby School Japan is proud to announce the official launch of the RSJ Podcast, a dynamic student-led project designed to showcase creativity, foster self-expression, and connect the school community in a fresh and engaging way.

Led by Chief Editor Mia Blackwell (Year 13) and supported by the RSJ Podcast Team, this initiative was born from a clear mission: to give students a platform to share their unique ideas, celebrate their studies and interests, and build essential skills in both technical production and communication. Since November, the team has been hard at work developing content and refining their approach to storytelling.

As part of the launch, the team has also created engaging quizzes related to the episodes, encouraging the school community to tune in and test their knowledge, with small prizes available for early participants.

The podcast’s pilot episode, “Christmas”, takes listeners on a festive journey exploring holiday traditions in Japan, school celebrations, and a special guest interview. Episode two, “A Day in the Life of…”, offers insight into the daily experiences of staff across different departments, while also incorporating student voices, including a lively segment on Chinese New Year and language learning with Junior MFL students.

The RSJ Podcast is a testament to the dedication and leadership of the students involved, particularly Mia Blackwell, who has led the editorial direction of the project. The team has also been supported by project supervisors Ms Maggie Wong and Mr Axel Remoiville, and the generous support of Mr Peter Musson, who provided access to music rooms and equipment.

Beyond its creative success, the podcast reflects Rugby School Japan’s commitment to “Whole Person” education—helping students develop real-world skills while inspiring connection within the school community.

Congratulations to the RSJ Podcast Team for this remarkable achievement! The podcast is now live and available to pupils and staff members. For parents and the wider community, the podcast team are working on making episodes more widely available and will share an update as soon as possible.
